Manufactured by Renault particularly for developing markets all over the world, recently, the Arkana has been exhibited at the 2018 Moscow Motor Show.

After teasers of their new crossover were leaked, the Renault eventually unveiled its new Arkana. Despite the exceptional look, Renault is built for developing markets in the world, as officially stated by Renault. It is expected that it will be released in India, the biggest developing market, by 2020.

To give more details about the exhibited car, it is a combination of an SUV in the front and a coupe in the rear. It offers both the delicacy of a sedan and the stability of an SUV, as stated by Renault. The rear of the Arkana is also equipped with two exhaust pipes and an LED tail light strip running across the boot lid. It also offers a high ground clearance and sleek ORVMs, which contribute to the exceptional look of the Arkana. Other features include

  • a high waistline

  • LED headlights

  • panoramic sunroof

  • large19-inch alloy wheels.

Laurens Van den Acker – SVP, Corporate Design of Groupe Renault, commented:

“The ARKANA show car is a distinctive coupé-crossover, striking balance between the elegance of a Sedan and the powerful stance of an SUV. We have dialed in specific Renault cues, with a strong design, strength and sensuality with a French touch.”

The Renault Arkana shares the same platform with the Russia-spec Dacia and Duster but it has been slightly customized to the crossover. Mechanic details of the Arkana have not been disclosed by Renault but it is expected to have the similar engine with Russia-spec cars.

The Renault Arkana will be first released into Russian auto market by early 2019 and then to Asian countries. Since it is specifically produced for emerging markets, let’s look forward to its early launch in India.

Nicolas Maure – SVP, Chairman of Eurasia Region, remarked:

“The idea for this innovative concept came from Russia and the project was conducted with the strong involvement of Renault Russia teams. ARKANA will meet Russian customers’ aspirations but also the ones of new customers in many countries worldwide, enabling Groupe Renault to further pursue its international growth as part of its Drive the Future strategic plan.”
