Suzuki Across is based on the latest Toyota RAV4 and shares a lot of commonalities like with it, like the platform, features and powertrain.

The association between Suzuki and Toyota is continuously developing, not just in our domestic market, but foreign markets as well. Toyota is all set to launch the Maruti Vitara Brezza-based Urban Cruiser in the Indian market by the end of this year and Suzuki has already revealed a new SUV that is based on the Toyota RAV4. The latter will be produced by Toyota and will not look like a mere rebadged car, unlike the Maruti Baleno-based Toyota Glanza.

The all-new Suzuki Across will be based on the Toyota Across

In fact, Suzuki has done a pretty good job with updating the styling package for the fifth-gen Toyota RAV4 to Suzuki Across conversion. It may be noted here that the latest-gen RAV4 was was introduced back in April 2019 and has garnered enough popularity for its aggressive design, high practicality, hybrid technology and high fuel economy.

Up front, the Suzuki Across features a new hexagonal blacked-out grille. The SUV also gets aggressive looking headlamps along with integrated boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The front fascia employs C-shaped black housing for the fog lamps, and you also get a silver-coloured skid plate to protect the underbody of the SUV. The rear profile of the Across is quite similar to that of the RAV4 and a few other highlights consist of squarish black wheel arches and side cladding, black roof rails, chromed window line, aggressive contours and aggressive lines, raked windshield and so on. The rear fascia of the SUV features LED taillights, a blacked-out bumper and shark fin antenna. Moreover, the interior of the Suzuki Across will also look quite similar to the cabin of the Toyota RAV4.

It'll derive power from a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors

Inside, the Suzuki Across comes loaded with features like wireless charging pad, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, layered dashboard, multi-functional steering wheel, a few premium chrome inserts and neatly laid out the centre console. Mechanically, it derives power from a 2.5-litre four-pot gasoline engine paired with two electric motors (one at the front and other at the back). The petrol engine puts out the power and torque outputs of 182 bhp and 227 Nm. Individually, the front electric motor produces 108 bhp and 270 Nm, while the rear motor develops 54 bhp and 121 Nm.
