New Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid World Champion Edition Launched

Suzuki has recently introduced the new limited edition of Swift Sport hybrid in the European market. It features subtle cosmetic tweaks on outside and inside.

Suzuki has recently introduced the limited edition model of Swift Sport Hybrid to celebrate the 7th world title won by Suzuki in the premier class of the World Championship. The automaker has only introduced only seven limited editions of Swift Sport Hybrid. The special edition model of the car is offered at Euros 20,900, which translates into Rs 18.44 lakh. The new Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid World Champion Edition is offered in exclusive colour shade options, which combines metallic blue with a silver roof and fluorescent yellow interior, which is inspired by the Anniversary livery of the official Ecstar Team.

This Suzuki Swift is inspired by their first bike, which participated in the world race in 1960. The dual-tone paint finish comprises of metallic blue colour with silver details. It gets three racing strips with contrasting colour on the body of the hatchback. The Suzuki Swift Sporty Hybrid is offered with a sporty looking diffuser plate with dual exhaust and 17-inch two-tone rims. The cabin of the Swift Sport limited edition employs accent mouldings on door panels, centre console and gearbox tunnel.

The carmaker has added smart-looking fluorescent yellow colour to the dashboard and armrest. The dashboard of the car gets limited edition unit number and autograph of Joan Mir, the rider who won the seventh world title for Suzuki. Mechanically, the Suzuki Swift Sport limited edition is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol mill with a 48V mild-hybrid setup. The engine is capable of shredding out 129bhp of peak power along with extra 13bhp more for a small starter motor and generator.

The engine comes coupled to a 6-speed MT. The sporty hatchback is capable to touch a top speed of 210 kmph. The regular Maruti Swift offered in the Indian market is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder gasoline mill that produces 82bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
