The production form of the Tata H7X concept is more likely to sit above the five-seater Tata Harrier, expected to be launched in late 2019.

Tata Motors is now gearing up for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show with the official debut of the Tata H7X concept set to be commenced in March 2019. Recently, the largest home-grown automobile manufacturer has just launched the first teaser video of the Tata H7X concept car ahead of its premiere.

Breaking all rumours to be a derivative of the Harrier, the Tata H7X has been confirmed to be a separate product with unique coupe-like styling design giving better passenger comfort, an upright rear-end, different bumper and new roof line. From the teaser video, the upcoming Tata H7X is supposed to take some cues from the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Tata Safari. Slated to utilize the latest OMEGA underpinning, the all-new H7X will get 62 mm longer measuring the overall length of 4,660 mm to accommodate the third row of seat then granting the superior endless spaciousness inside the cabin. For such a sizeable dimension and gigantic inside-out, the new H7X is much-anticipated to get plenty of high-end features fitting an enormous SUV such as power sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, advanced infotainment system with the functional instrument cluster.

As regarding the engine-transmission package, the Tata H7X concept will employ an FCA-sourced 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel motor called the “Kryotec” that is good enough for the power of 170PS as well as 350 Nm in the torque. The mill might come paired with a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Tata Harrier sibling, the H7X will deploy an all-wheel-drive system instead of using the four-wheel drive as that of its relative.

Once launched, the upcoming Tata car can cutthroat the likes of Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova Crysta and Ford Endeavour.
