New Tata Safari Introductory Prices Start at Rs 14.99 Lakh – EXCLUSIVE

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Safari in the Indian market. Tata Safari nameplate is quite famous among the Indian buyers and has been in the market for over 20 years now. The Safari was discontinued in the year 2019, as it failed to comply with new safety and emission norms. To revive the nameplate in the Indian market, Tata Motors has named the 7-seater iteration of the Harrier as Safari. It has been unveiled recently and will soon be hitting the showroom floors. While prices for the new Safari are yet to be announced, the booking will begin from February 4. However, our sources have confirmed that the new Safari will go on sale at an introductory starting price of Rs. 14.99 lakh, whereas the top-end trim will cost Rs 21.99 lakh. This comes via a close contact of the designated marketing team of upcoming Tata Safari.

As of now, Tata Motors has been tight-lipped about a lot of details about the new Safari. The carmaker has not even revealed the launch date of its upcoming flagship SUV. But it is expected to be launched officially in February itself. Moreover, the token amount for the pre-bookings is still an unknown figure. Nevertheless, the dimensions and feature list of the upcoming Safari have been revealed. In terms of dimensions, the Safari is 63 mm longer and 80 mm taller than the Harrier. Although, both the cars boast of identical width and wheelbase. Furthermore, the powertrain and drivetrains options are carried over from the Harrier to Safari in an as-is fashion. Both of these SUVs use a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that puts outs 170 PS against 350 Nm. Transmission options comprise of a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.

Talking of the features, the Safari gets a long list of equipment. It gets an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with 9 speakers, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay compatibility, and IRA connected car tech. Also, the list includes a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, Boss mode, traction control modes, drive modes, ambient lighting, climate control and more. For the safety of the occupants, it comes with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, auto-dimming IRVM, brake disc wiping, corner stability control, electronic stability program, hill hold control, hill descent control, reverse parking camera, traction control, TPMS, and rollover mitigation.
