Check out our rendering of the production-spec model of the new Tata Sierra to get a feel of how it would look like when it launches next year

The Sierra is one of the most iconic vehicles in India, and the company has managed to excite enthusiasts all over the country by showcasing the Tata Sierra concept at Auto Expo 2020. That, however, is just a concept, and the production model will look different.

IndianAuto’s sister publication, IndianAutosBlog, has recently created a rendering of what could be the final production model of the Tata Sierra concept. While we wouldn’t claim that the actual model will look the same panel-to-panel, the image rendering showcased below manages to capture the essence of the Sierra perfectly.

As can be seen in the picture above, the production-spec Sierra looks the same as the concept. The biggest change is the front fog-lamp housing, which has been put where the side air-vents used to be. Apart from that, the concept did not have an open front grille. The final product probably will have a few open vents at the front, mainly to cool the electric motors and/or battery pack under the hood.  The production model will probably feature the same powertrain as the recently-launched Nexon EV. The 2020 Tata Sierra will offer a max power of 129PS and 245Nm of peak torque, along with a range of 300+ km on a full charge.

The original Tata Sierra was first introduced back in 1991 and was the first-ever off-road SUV by the home-grown manufacturer. It was offered in four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive formats. It had a three-door design, which has been carried forward in the 2020 Sierra concept as well.
