Next-gen Ford Endeavour Looks Dapper In This Rendering

Ford Endeavour is the blue oval’s flagship vehicle in India. Sold as Everest in a few other countries, the Endeavour was first launched in India back in 2003, and has been soldiering on in our market since. The first generation was retired in 2006, and served until 2015, when the current generation model was introduced. Now, the SUV is due for another upgrade, and a significant one at that. If you’re wondering what the upcoming next-gen Endeavour might look like, then take a look at the image below.

The above image imagines the new generation Ford Endeavour in a sleek- and sexy- looking avatar. The front end features an all-black grille with honeycomb pattern, sharp headlamps underlined by LED DRLs, along with big, gaping side vents that join into the foglamp housings. Overall, the face looks a little reminiscent of the previous-generation Ford EcoSport. The side profile looks the same as the current generation model, although we know from earlier spy pictures that this isn’t the case. The new Endeavour will be longer than the current generation, with a bigger rear overhang, and a larger glass area as well. Apart from that, the new alloy wheel design looks extremely pretty with its dual-tone colour scheme. The rear of the car isn’t visible here, but we do see a small glimpse of the taillamp at the back.

While the above rendering surely looks impressive, we will have to wait and see how the final production version of the new Endeavour would look. With Ford and Mahindra JV, it will be interesting to see how the latter would influence the former, if at all. Mahindra, as we all know, is one of the leading UV manufacturers in India. With products like XUV500, Alturas, and XUV300 (safest Indian car) under its belt, the homegrown carmaker sure knows a thing or two about SUVs. The two companies are also expected to develop some new compact SUVs for the Indian market as well.

There is no confirmation regarding the powertrain of the upcoming next-gen Ford Endeavour, but we expect the current ‘EcoBlue’ engine to carry forward to the next model. It is a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 unit, capable of generating 170 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 420 Nm. It comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox only, with no option for a manual gearbox. The international-spec model of the Endeavour (or Everest) manages to pump out even more power from this engine, 210 PS and 500 Nm. It would be great to see this motor make its way to India as well.
