The new-gen Honda HR-V is expected to make its global showcase in Japan by the end of this year or early 2021.

In our previous reports, we reported that the new-gen Honda HR-V will make its world’s debut in the first half of 2021. Other than that, the all-new Honda HR-V could be India-bound to rival the like of Seltos and Creta. Adding to it, the new HR-V is rumoured to get a coupe-SUV profile and recently, the Honda HR-V coupe-SUV has been caught on camera for the first time ever. That said, this is the first concrete evidence that makes the rumours to be believed.

The new-gen Honda HR-V has been spotted on test, revealing its coupe-like stance of the upcoming SUV.

As expected, the upcoming Honda HR-V features Honda’s current design philosophy that gives it a bolder look compared to the previous-gen model. The newest spy images also hint that the next-gen Honda HR-V will be bigger and more premium than the outgoing car and will have a more coupe-like appearance. It was spotted with slanted headlamps, hexagonal front grille with LED DRLs on the top side among others. Do note that these design elements are not usual with Honda.

If launched in India, the Honda HR-V will face the fierce rivalries from Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector in the mid-size SUV segment.

At the rear, the Honda HR-V sports a steeply tapering rear windshield while the tail lamps also get some tweaks as well. The spied and tested car adopts smaller-size 6-spoke wheels with dual-tone black & white treatment.

We expect the 2021 Honda HR-V to receive a complete makeover to the interior which will feature a new dashboard layout, a touchscreen infotainment system along with some other creature-comforts.

Powering the new Honda HR-V will be a range of engine options including a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Thai-spec City. If the new Honda HR-V can make it to India, we expect it will bring in another 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor as well.
