Next-gen Jeep Renegade Heading Towards India

The American automaker, Jeep has revealed its plan to drop the top on the Jeep’s India lineup with the all-new Jeep Renegade heading to the Indian roads in 2022. This will be a sub-four-metre SUV that will bitterly rival the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Creta in the next few years. The current-gen Jeep Renegade has been confirmed not to make its entry to India.

The all-new Jeep Renegade could be launched in India in 2022

The new Jeep Renegade will land in the country after the launch of the seven-seater SUV and the sub-four-metre SUV. It is expected that the Renegade will receive a high level of localization in order to offer the competitive price in the race with Creta which is currently priced at Rs 9.50 to Rs 15.10 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The carmaker also revealed its plan to export the new-gen Renegade to some other right-hand-drive markets with lower pricing range.

The upcoming SUV will be positioned at the ex-showroom price of around Rs 9.50 to Rs 15.10 Lakh 

Of course, the powertrain details are still under the wrap, but we can expect it to get the same 1.4-litre Turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines with the Jeep Compass sibling. The 6-speed manual and a 7-step dual-clutch automatic gearbox are also likely to come in the Renegade as the Compass.

In addition to the Jeep Renegade, two new models from the US carmaker are all set to be introduced in India including the Compass Trailhawk and the next version of Jeep Wrangler.
