As per the latest rumour, Renault is gearing up to introduce the second-gen Renault Duster in India sometime in 2020

Things move pretty fast in the development of automotive worlds. Carmakers are doing their best to upgrade their vehicles pursuant to the speedy flexibility of the four-wheeler market. Renault India has no exception. Recently, reporters revealed that Renault is in the process to bring the second generation of the Duster to India in the near future.

The new Renault Duster has been spotted testing on the roads several times

According to Venkatram Mamillapalle, Chief Executive Officer, Renault India, the French automotive company is readying two new car launchers for India in FY2019-2020.

“We have new product launches in 2019 and 2020. Two new products will be launched, one in July (2019) and the other, the year after that”.

What can be indicated here is that, one model will be the Kwid-based sub-4-metres MPV codenamed RBC while the other should be the second-gen Renault Duster.

As far as the Duster is concerned, the latest SUV wrapped off its cover in Europe in 2017 and has been on sale in almost every international markets. The new-gen Duster joins the first-gen model and even the Renault Captur and Nissan Kicks on the same B0 platform. In the SUVs world that radical design is much more preferable, the new Duster has no choice without building itself a more revolutionary and modern look. Of course, the sense of sportiness has been retained from the original small SUV, yet a sharper bold stance is on the way. Updated exterior fitments are offered in the vehicle, including projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs as well as new set of 17-inch alloy wheels.

The SUV is given a host of bodyworks and updated features for the Indian space

The feature list, like any other major facelifts in the world, is extended to a higher level of enhancement. Features like keyless entry, start-stop push-button, leatherette-wrapped steering, auto temperature control, newly-fitted 7-inch Medianav touchscreen infotainment system, et al. are set to make a feel of premium in every corner inside. A batch of top-notch driver’s assist and safety features are incorporated into the international-spec second-gen Renault Duster such as four airbags, Brake Assist, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat mounts, Around View Monitor, Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitor. We can expect all, or else, a part of the safety suite will be the case for the India-spec vehicle this time.

The engine-transmission combination for the next-generation Renault Duster should be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated SCe gasoline engine and a 1.5-litre DCi diesel unit. The petrol model comes to produce 115 PS of max power and 156 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed MT (for FWD variant) and a 6-speed MT (for AWD configuration). Whereas, the 115PS/260 Nm oil burner sends its power to the front wheels via a 6-speed MT unit.
