Nissan Kicks has started to kick off its launch campaign in India market by releasing some sneak peek of the new models.

Just a few weeks ago, Nissan has released the sketch images of the upcoming Nissan Kicks. And today, the full image of the India-spec Kicks has been revealed. Now, we could know for sure how the new Kicks will look like, and how it differs from the international version.

Nissan Kicks will be introduced in India next year

Basically, the India-spec Kicks will not greatly vary from the recent international version. But certain changes are expected. For example, the bumper will be revised in the Indian version. The faux air intake will be placed above the fog light housing. The twist is meant to bring in the toughness to the exterior design. Besides, the headlights will come with LED treatment along with the LED DRLs that has already seen in the global market. Instead of the honeycomb details in the old Nissan Kicks, you will find the Indian version with a sleek mesh grille.

There will be some minor changes in the fascia

Apart from these tweaks, the Kicks will remain the prominent wheel arches and the floating roof effect with blackout pillars. While the front face bears quite many changes, the rear, in fact, stays faithful to the original design, except for the slightly reworked rear bumper.

On the dimension front, the India-spec Kicks will grow in size when compared to the international version. The length stays at 4384mm, which is 89mm longer than the global-spec model. Not only the length but the width and the height also grows too. Specifically, it measures at 1,813mm and 1,656mm, respectively. And the India-spec car will also stand at a higher height of 210mm. The significant growth in size is due to the adaption of the new platform - Alliance's M0 platform. This platform is shared with the Renault Captur.

And as the result of the extended dimension, the Kicks will also own a better interior space. What’s more interesting, the boot will also grow too. Apart from this, we barely have any clue about the change inside the India-bound car, even though spy images of the Nissan Kicks have been circulating around the Internet.

We could expect that the interior of the Kicks will be just as sporty as the international version. And the goodies like 8.0-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and automatic climate control are expected to be offered in the Kicks.

India-spec Nissan Kicks interior is not revealed yet

In the India market, Nissan Kicks is likely to come with the 1.5-litre diesel engine and 1.5-litre petrol engine. Petrol version will be paired with the 6-speed manual for the diesel and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The automatic option will not arrive at the launch of the Kicks. Possibly, it will be brought into the Indian market sometime later.

Nissan Kicks will be priced at Rs 9.4 lakh to 15 lakh. At this price range, the Kicks will be situated at the higher segment than the Terrano in Nissan’s product line-up. At its launch, the Kicks will pit against Hyundai Creta and Renault Cluster.
