Nissan will increase the price of Magnite from 1st April, 2021. The Nissan SUV will have its third price hike next month.

From April this year, many automakers in India will increase the price of vehicles across their stable. After Renault and Maruti Suzuki, Nissan has recently announced that they will also hike the prices of their vehicles offered in India from next month. This price hike will affect all the Nissan and Datsun cars. The percentage of price increase will differ from model to model and trim to trim. Nissan says that the reason for the price hike is the escalation in the price of auto components. Besides Datsun cars and Nissan Kicks, the price increase will more importantly affect the recently introduced Magnite.

This will be the third price hike, Nissan Magnite will see since its launch in December 2020. The first price increase was implemented at the end of the introductory price period when the price of the base trim was hiked by Rs 50,000. This month, the automaker increased the prices of all turbo-petrol trims by Rs 30,000. The third price increase could now largely affect the non-turbo variants, which haven’t faced any price change since launch. Early this month, the carmaker said that they have gathered 40,000 bookings for the SUV since its introduction. Because of its amazing value for money proposition, the Nissan SUV quickly became one of the most popular SUVs in its segment.

Out of 40,000 bookings, the automaker has already delivered 6,500 units of Magnite to the buyers. In many cities, the waiting period of the car has been extended up to seven months. To reduce the waiting period, the carmaker is working at full pace. Mechanically, it gets propelled by a 1.0-litre NA and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill. The former develops 71 Bhp of power and 96 Nm of peak torque, while the latter produces power and torque output of 99 Bhp and 160 Nm. The Magnite will be available with two transmission choices - 5-speed MT and CVT. However, the option of CVT is limited to the turbo-petrol only.
