Nissan Magnite (Tata Nexon-rival) Teased In New Images

Nissan has officially revealed teaser images of its upcoming Magnite compact SUV. The pre-production model of the car will be unveiled next month.

Nissan is all-set to officially reveal the Magnite compact SUV on 16th July 2020. The carmaker will showcase the SUV in pre-production avatar. The company has also released two new teaser images of the upcoming sub-4-meter SUV, which showcases the front styling of the car. Earlier, it was reported that the launch of the all-new Nissan Magnite has been pushed to the next year. Moreover, before Magnite, the carmaker’s alliance partner Renault will launch the Kiger compact SUV in our market. Both cars will be based on the company’s CMF-A+ platform. This is the same platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. Earlier, Magnite was planned to be launched under Datsun nameplate, Nevertheless, Nissan is now planning to slowly discontinue the brand from its global portfolio.

The new teaser images also suggest that the upcoming Nissan Magnite will feature Datsun-like Hexagonal grille surrounded with chrome accents. Moreover, some other styling highlights include sculpted bonnet, two-tone bumper with faux skid plate, new sleeker headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. The SUV also sports chunky wheels, which are expected to be different in the production-spec model. Moreover, it also gets bold wheel arches along with black plastic cladding all around the body of the car. Inside, the all-new Nissan Magnite will come loaded with features like 360 degrees surround-view camera, automatic AC, factory-fitted sunroof, Nissan connected car technology and much more.

The upcoming Nissan compact SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-pot petrol mill in NA and turbocharged versions. The naturally-aspirated trim puts out power and torque outputs of 71bhp and 96 Nm, while the turbo petrol variant will churn out 99bhp of peak power and 160 Nm of twisting force. The engine will come paired with a 5-speed MT or a CVT. Earlier, media reports suggest that the all-new compact SUV will be priced as low as 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, the CVT trim is expected to be priced not more than 6 lakh. Once launched, it’ll directly compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.
