Over 10 Units of Hyundai Creta Sold Every Hour Since its Launch in 2015

Last year, the Korean automaker Hyundai launched the new-gen Creta in the Indian market. Like the previous-gen model, the all-new Creta became rapidly popular among the buyers around the country. The Hyundai SUV is known for its modern looks, feature-loaded cabin and aggressive price tag. In its segment, it rubs shoulders with the likes of Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos. Recently, Hyundai Creta has surpassed the 5 lakh sales mark in India. The carmaker has shared this news via a video, which they have uploaded on their YouTube. Watch the video embedded below. Well, Hyundai has managed to sell over 10 units of Creta every hour since July 2015.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta was able to gather around 65,000 units in a very short span of time, and the automaker leads the SUV market by registering 34,212 units of sale from April 2021 to July 2020. Currently, the carmaker is offering four SUVs in our market namely- Venue, Creta, Tucson and Kona Electric. Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling compact SUVs since its launch. More than 60 per cent of the demand is for the diesel trim of the SUV, which shows that there still a demand for diesel SUVs in India. The Hyundai Creta, which gets manufactured in India is sold in 88 countries. The SUV is offered in five different trim levels namely- E, EX, S, SX and SX(O).

Mechanically, it gets powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former puts out power and torque outputs of 115 PS and 144 Nm, while the latter develops 115 PS and 250 Nm of twisting force. The SUV also gets propelled by a smaller 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor that produces 140 PS of peak power and 242 Nm of peak torque. The engines are offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 17.31 lakh for the top-spec variant.
