Renault Triber is the brand’s best-selling car in India with as many as 931 units sold last month, which is more than what Kwid and Duster could manage

Launched in September 2019, Renault Triber is the brand’s newest 7-seater car for India. Within some months of its launch, the Triber easily outsold its hatchback sibling, the Kwid to become the best-selling car of Renault in our country. Even after the very tough period caused by the nationwide lockdown, Renault Triber helped Renault make a sales recovery during the month of May. Once again, in May 2020, the Triber outsold Kwid and Duster to become the company’s best-selling car in India.

The Renault Duster garnered 138 sales as against 672 units recorded in the same period of 2019, which amounts to a 79 per cent sales decline on a year-on-year basis. The Renault Lodgy and Renault Captur were reported with zero sales as the former has been phased out from the lineup while the latter is yet to receive a BS6 update.

Cumulatively, the French automobile manufacturer registered 1,753 unit sales last month. The figure looks quite low as compared to 5,949 units sold in the same period of last year but it signals the improving buyer sentiment in the current scenarios. A major part of Triber’s success is its clever pricing. Presently, the Triber retails at Rs 4.99 – 7.22 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
