Renault Triber has dethroned the Kwid hatchback in terms of sales to become Renault’s best-seller in India.

Last month, Renault India introduced its all-new sub-four-metre MPV, the Renault Triber to the Indian market. Earlier last week, the French automaker also launched the facelifted version of Renault Kwid which was once the best sales driver of Renault in India. According to the last month’s sales report, the all-new Triber, despite being on sale for only a month, has outsold the popular Kwid hatchback and become the brand’s best-selling model in the country.

Renault Triber is an all-new sub-four-metre MPV that comes with an array of propositions.

According to the report, Renault has dispatched as many as 4,710 units of Triber in the month of September 2019 while that figure of the Kwid is at merely 2,995 units in the same month.

From this, the Triber overtook the Kwid’s sales number to become largest-selling Renault car last month. The Renault Duster is the third largest-selling car from the company with 544 units sold in the country, followed by 78 units of the Lodgy registered in the same period. Meanwhile, the company’s most expensive car, Renault Captur witnessed a poor sales performance as only 18 units of Captur was dispatched in the month of September 2019.

The Renault Triber is warmly welcomed by the Indian buyers as it manages to defeat Kwid's sales in September 2019.

Apparently, the healthy sales volume of Renault Triber contributed largely to the company’s substantial sales growth last month. Having said, Renault witnessed a positive momentum and even managed to overtake Tata Motors on sales chart during the ongoing economic slowdown.

The dispatch figure of the Triber and Kwid are predicted to change drastically in the next months due to the arrival of the new Renault Kwid. Additionally, it should be noted that since the Renault Triber is an all-new car, the dispatch number would consist of test-drive models and vehicles delivered to dealers as display ones. It will take us a couple of months before we get to know which car of the two is more popular in the domestic market.
