Several Tata Tigor EVs Delivered To Ministry Of AYUSH

As a part of its partnership with EESL, Tata Motors recently delivered the first batch of Tigor EVs that are meant to be used by the Ministry of AYUSH

Tata Motors, the homegrown carmaker, recently delivered the first batch of Tigor EV models to the Ministry of AYUSH (Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy). The automaker has said that the first lot of the electric sedans has been handed over to Shri P.N. Ranjit Kumar, Joint Secretary (Admin), Ministry of AYUSH by Mr Raj Kumar Luthra, General Manager at EESL. Right now, the automaker is playing a major role in electric mobility in our country. Tata has supplied several Tigor electric vehicles to the Ministry of Ayush as a part of its tender with EESL.

These electric cars will be added in the government’s fleet of vehicles in Delhi. Many automakers introducing new electric cars in the Indian market and soon these vehicles will replace the regular ICE cars. The Indian government has the vision to make to use only electric cars in India by 2030. Moreover, under the EESL tender, other government departments including the prime minister’s office have also added electric cars in their stable. Talking about Tata Tigor EV, the electric sedan is powered by a 21.5 kWh battery, which is capable of shredding out 40bhp of peak power and 105 Nm of twisting force.

The automaker claims that the Tigor EV can cover a distance of 140 km or 213 km in one full charge, depending on the trim. Tigor EV is only available for fleet operators.  For personal use, the carmaker offers Nexon EV in India, which offers a range of 312 km. The electric SUV was launched in our market early this year. It is offered in three different trim levels namely- XM, XZ Plus and ZX Plus LUX. It is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, which puts out 125bhp of peak power and 245 Nm of peak torque. The electric SUV is retailed at a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh for the entry-level XM variant and goes all the way up to Rs 15.99 for the top-spec ZX Plus LUX trim.
