Skoda Auto Initiates Clever Lease Programme in India

Leasing is a new concept in India. Despite its newness, the leasing business shows a lot of potentials. At the moment, some car brands in India have started to form a partnership with leasing companies or rolled out their own leasing service as an alternative to traditional ownership. Skoda is the newest company to join this market. Recently, Skoda has introduced the Clever Lease Program for Indian customers.

Skoda rolled out Clever Lease Programme for Indian customers

In the beginning, Skoda will operate this programme in eight big cities across the nation, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Under the leasing program, individuals and companies can lease Skoda cars at the monthly price from Rs 22,570. The lease programme covers road tax, breakdown assistance, repair cost, insurance, and periodic maintenance, tyre and battery replacement and a replacement vehicle.

Skoda provides a wide range of leasing options, offering optimized flexibility for the customers. They can choose among plain, dry or wet lease solutions. These solutions are available for a tenure of 24, 36, 48 and 60 months for Rapid TSI and Superb models. In the next phase, as a part of the INDIA 2.0 project, Skoda will bring this programme to other parts of the nation. Skoda has also formed a partnership with ORIX for this initiative.

According to Mr Zac Hollis, Brand Director – SKODA AUTO India, the automotive industry is experiencing a major transformation, which requires the car brand to change to adapt to the everchanging environment. He said, “It is imperative that we evolve too: from a traditional automobile manufacturer to a mobility solution partner. Be it state-of-the-art products or services, as a customer-focused organization, we at ŠKODA AUTO India strive to meet the ever-changing needs and requirements of our discerning customers.” In Skoda’s estimation, the leasing market will multifold in the next few years. By providing Clever Lease, Skoda “intends to suitability cater the demand of a generation that weighs convenience over ownership.”

Next year, Skoda Auto is planning to launch a B-SUV vehicle based on the Vision IN concept. The new model will be built entirely in India. The new models will rival against the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
