Ahead of its official launch tomorrow, the Skoda Karoq has started reaching the dealerships of Skoda India. The new model will be launched digitally in the country and will be brought to us via CBU route. While the new model will be sold only in a fully-loaded variant, the real highlight will be the many safety features that the car will come with.

The safety pack of the Skoda Karoq includes nine airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Parktronic System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Multi Collision Brake. Powering the premium compact SUV is a EA211 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo 4-cyl petrol motor which can generate 150 PS against 250 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 7-speed DSG DCT unit. The SUV does not come with an AWD system, neither as standard nor optional. The Karoq will be available in six different colours: Quartz Grey, Brilliant Silver, Magic Black, Lava Blue, Magnetic Brown and Candy White.

Basically, the Skoda Karoq is a mechanical twin of the VW T-Roc that was launched earlier this year and has already received a positive response from the market. Even the T-Roc is brought to our shores via CBU route and both the launch of both the SUVs has been made possible by the relaxed homologation norms that came into effect last year. While the two models offer pretty much the same performance and equipment levels, their distinct aesthetics will help them have different personalities.
