Skoda Karoq spotted on road without any camo whatsoever hints that launch is right around the corner.

Skoda India started accepting bookings for Karoq back in March against a sum of Rs 50,000. It was earlier slated to be launched on May 6, 2020. However, the nationwide lockdown took a toll on company's plans and the event was called off. But the government has now eased off the lockdown to support the economic activities and now, Skoda will be finally launching the Karoq on May 26. Since carmakers have also resumed operations at their dealerships, deliveries of the Karoq are expected to begin soon after its launch. Also, a white-coloured Karoq was recently spotted in flesh on road, which further confirms of the news. It looked like it was either on its way to the dealership from a stockyard or on its final rounds of pre-delivery inspection.

Skoda Karoq boasts of a decently large road presence.

Skoda is currently importing Karoq via CBU route and in the top-end variant only. Powering the Karoq will be a 1.5L TSI-Evo petrol engine that belts out a peak power output of 150 PS and max. torque of 250 Nm. The transmission duties on this turbo-petrol motor are performed by a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine-gearbox combination is capable enough to dart the Karoq from a standstill to 100 kmph mark in just 9.0 seconds. The top speed, on the other hand, is limited at 202 kmph.

The fully-loaded configuration that Skoda has planned for India is loaded to the brim. It gets all-LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch Trinity dual-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment unit, 12-way power-adjustable driver seat, 2-zone climate control, fully digital instrument cluster, LED ambient lighting, and Stone beige leather upholstery to keep the occupants in complete comfort.

As of now, Skoda has not revealed the final price of the Karoq, which is expected to be announced only when the deliveries will begin. The car is likely to be priced around Rs. 20.00 lakh mark. This way Skoda will pitch it as a direct rival to the VW T-Roc
