Skoda Octavia Corporate Edition been has launched exclusively for brand loyalists, aimed at the existing Rapid owners

Boy, does Skoda Auto know a thing or two about customer loyalty. Following the Skoda Superb Corporate Edition, the company has now launched the new Octavia in a similar-fashioned Corporate Edition exclusivity. While the Superb was available was also available for non-Skoda owner albeit at a higher premium, the new Octavia Corporate Edition will only be available to existing owners. The newly-introduced variant will be available in two versions, both with a special introductory price. The petrol version is priced at INR 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel version demands a price of INR 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Introduced as an entry-level variant for the Octavia name brand, it will only be offered in one colour shade - Candy White. The new variant is poised to be a natural selection for current Rapid owners, and despite the heavily discounted entry price tag, still gets extra touches of its own. These distinctive features include Qudra headlamps with LED DRLs from the style variant, along with sportier 16-inch Vellorum alloy wheels. Apart from these premium touches from higher variants, the car will be similarly equipped and feature-rich as the standard Octavia Ambiente variants. Inside the cabin, the car gets a piano black finish on the centre console with dual-tone Onyx Ivory front dash specced with beige premium upholstery. Other features include 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a two-zone Climatronic system with clean-air function.

The petrol version gets a 1.4-litre TSI unit, which is capable of developing a peak power output of 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, while also delivering a fuel-efficiency rating of 16.7kmpl. The diesel version, on the other hand, is the globally popular 2.0-litre TDI unit and in this tune, delivers a healthy output of 141bhp with 320Nm of traffic-light-racing torque. Being an entry-level variant though, the Octavia Corporate Edition will only be available with one transmission option, a six-speed manual.
