Skoda Octavia vRS Makes A Return To Indian Market at Auto Expo 2020

The Skoda Octavia vRS has a great band of fan-followers in India after it was launched in 2017. In fact, the Octavia vRS found a higher response from the Indian market than what Skoda had expected in the beginning, as the 500 units brought in by the company were completely sold out in 2018. Today, the Skoda Octavia vRS has come back to India as parts of Skoda’s range at the Auto Expo 2020.

Launched at the Auto Expo 2020, the Skoda Octavia RS245 or vRS now gets the price of Rs 35.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), be it a performance four-door luxury sedan. The Octavia vRS enters India via the CBU format and the allocation is limited to 200 units only. Therefore, the Octavia vRS will go directly on sale across the dealerships and there’re no demo cars this time around. Booking of the new vRS will be opened on March 1 while the deliveries will commence in April.

The Skoda Octavia vRS here is the outgoing Euro-spec car, which means it is a more powerful version over the outgoing RS sold in our market some years ago. It is equipped with a punchier 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that now churns out 245 HP of max power and 370 Nm of torque that delivers 15 HP and 200 Nm more than the previous vehicle. With the support of a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the all-new Octavia vRS can rocket from 0 – 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds before hitting the top speed of 250 kmph.

The 2020 Skoda Octavia comes with an updated suspension, vRS badges and new 18-inch alloy wheels and dual-exhaust tips. It is as well-loaded as the top-spec variant of the regular Octavia but with a sportier cabin. An all-black theme with red accents, premium seats, flat-bottom steering, a virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone temperature control and hands-free parking, etc. are some major highlights on the interior.
