After receiving positive signals from the market, Skoda Rapid Rider Edition is under consideration to become a regular offering.

Skoda Rapid Rider Edition was launched last month. According to the Czech carmaker, the limited version of the Skoda Rapid has been receiving positive responses from the car buyers. Attractive pricing has contributed to the initial success of the Rapid Rider Edition. For that reason, it is possible that the Rapid Rider Edition will be a regular offering on the Rapid range.

The limited edition is equipped with more or less the same feature offering on the entry-level Active grade of the standard model. Skoda Rapid Rider Edition shares the same 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear power window, manual-operated air conditioner, remote central locking and power-adjustable ORVMs with the standard version. Even though featuring a quite similar feature package, the Rapid Rider Edition is cheaper than the base-spec Active variant by almost one lakh. Skoda Rapid Rider Edition has proved itself to be an attractive offer that has a high potential for increasing the sales of the Rapid in the long run. Motivated by the overwhelming response for the Rapid Rider Edition, Skoda is considering providing this version as a regular option, confirmed by Zac Hollis, Director of Sales and Marketing Skoda India.

Skoda Rapid Rider Edition is available in two exterior schemes, Candy White and Carbon Steel. To make the exterior look sportier, Skoda has added some black-out elements to the Rapid Rider Edition, including an all-black grille, black decals on the side, black-out pillar, and black trunk lip to distinguish itself from the regular version. It comes with the same 15-inch wheels on the Rapid Active trim. Safety equipment on this limited edition includes dual airbags, ABS, height adjustable three-point seatbelts for the front row, rear windscreen defogger, engine immobilizer, and a rough road package.

Skoda Rapid Rider Edition is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 105 PS and a peak torque of 153 Nm. This unit is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Recently, the Skoda Rapid Rider Edition is available at the price of Rs 6.99 lakh, which undercuts other rivals like Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Honda City. Skoda Octavia is the next to get a Rider Edition nameplate version. To get more information, visit IndianAuto.com.
