Skoda Rapid Rider Limited Edition Launched At Rs 6.99 Lakh

Skoda Auto India has just launched a new version of the Skoda Rapid, named Skoda Rapid Rider. Despite having some exterior and interior updates, this limited version is cheaper than the standard base version. At the price of Rs 6.99 lakh, Skoda offers the Rapid Rider in two exterior colours, Carbon Steel and Candy White. Booking for this limited version is available across Skoda’s dealerships in India. As pointed out by Zac Hollis, the Director of the Sales, Service and Marketing Department, the new Skoda Rider comes with “emotive design, exquisite interior and class-leading safety features,” and most importantly, Skoda would offer this special edition “at a very competitive price point.”

The new edition of the Rapid looks distinctively different from the regular version. To spice up the exterior of the Skoda Rapid, the Czech carmaker has added to the standard design an extensive use of black elements across the bodywork. On the fascia, the sedan gets a new black-garnished grille along with the black hexagonal mesh lower grille. Notably, the Skoda Rapid Rider features black decals on the side profile along with black-finished boot lip on the rear.   

On the inside, the Skoda Rapid Rider comes with a new dual-tone interior colour scheme, a combination of ebony sand finish and ivory slate upholstery. Another detail that tells the Rapid Rider from the regular version is the scuff plates with engraved RAPID lettering.

In terms of safety features, Skoda Rapid Rider comes with front airbags and ABS along with rear parking sensor, three-point seatbelts, rear windscreen defogger, anti-glare rear-view mirror, engine immobilizer with rough road setting, as well as floating code system. The Skoda Rapid Rider will retain the mechanical parts of the standard version. It will come with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which puts out a maximum power of 105 Bhp and a peak torque of 153 Nm. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This powertrain is claimed to deliver a fuel mileage of 15.41 kmpl.
