Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Launched At INR 7.99 Lakh

The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus has been launched in the Indian auto market at a starting price of INR 7.99 lakh. It rivals the likes of new Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna

Skoda Auto India has launched a new entry-level version of the Rapid, which has gone on sale as the Rapid Rider Plus. The new model is based on the recently launched Rider versiona nd comes with some additional features. As regards the exterior design, the Skoda Rapid Rider Plus bears a strong resemblance to other variants in the lineup. Nevertheless, it distinguishes itself from the rest with several new elements. Thanks to Skoda typical grille’s black façade, the new Rapid Rider Plus sure looks a tad sportier on the road. Moreover, the new sedan also gets decorative side foils, polished black decor on the B pillars, window chrome garnish and complementary trunk lip garnish. The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus is offered in four colour options: Toffee Brown, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel and Candy White.

The Skoda Rider Plus sets itself apart from other variants in the lineup with some new features.

In terms of the interior, the new Skoda Rapid Rider Plus gets a plush two-tone ebony sand theme with ivory slate seat coverings. To make the sedan's interior feel more premium, Skoda has also added stainless-steel scuff plates inscribed with Rapid branding. A new 16.5-cm coloured touchscreen infotainment system, advanced Climatronic technology as well as dust and pollen filter also add to the convenience and comfort of passengers. On the safety front, the new sedan is equipped with two airbags, ABS, front height-adjustable three-point seatbelts, engine immobiliser with a floating code system, rear windscreen defogger with timer, etc.

The new sedan is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI 3-cyl motor which can produce 110 PS against 175 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Czech carmaker has also altered this powerplant to offer high refinement levels and an optimal balance of performance and fuel mileage.
