In an interview, Zac Hollis, Director, Sales & Marketing, Skoda India has said that the upcoming Skoda C2-sedan will launch in India by the end of next year, around the festive season. The automaker has recently launched an updated model of the Rapid, which is the most affordable car in Skoda’s line-up. The all-new mid-size Skoda sedan is expected to hit the Indian shores by 2021

The automaker has no plans to introduce the new-gen version of Repid which was recently launched in foreign markets. Instead, the carmaker will launch an all-new mid-size sedan, which will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and VW Vento. The upcoming Skoda sedan will be based on the company’s MQB AO IN platform.

The same platform will also underpin the Vision IN-based SUV. VW Group has decided to completely halt the production and sales of diesel models in our market. The new Skoda sedan will only be offered with a gasoline powertrain.
