Skoda Vision IN (Kia Seltos-rival) To Receive Its Production Name Next Month

Skoda Vision IN is about to enter the market in mid-2021. The official name is expected to be revealed next month.

At the Auto Expo 2020, Skoda displayed an SUV concept called Skoda Vision IN. Some reports suggest that Skoda will launch the production version of this concept car by mid-2021. It is also confirmed by the Czech car manufacturer that the production name of this model will be revealed next month. The new model will go on to lock horns with the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta

The official name for Skoda Vision IN will be revealed next month

Even before the official name is revealed, the upcoming SUV was spotted for several occasions and the Skoda Vision IN patent images were also leaked. As per the recent spy shots, the Vision IN will come with Skoda’s signature butterfly grille, a split LED headlight setting with integrated DRLs, roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels as well. On the rear end, instead of Skoda emblem, the tailgate will adorn a SKODA lettering. Overall, the Skoda Vision IN will look aggressive and imposing with funky bumper design, muscular bonnet, arches and black cladding.

In terms of features, there is nothing official yet. However, it is expected that Skoda Vision IN will be a feature-rich model. Features like 10.25-inch digital display for instrument cluster along with 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen will make it to the production version. Other upmarket features like panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, leatherette upholstery and connected car techs are expected to be offered on the production-ready Skoda Vision IN as well.

It is a well-known fact that the Skoda Vision IN is built on the VW Group’s MQB A0 IN which is localized specifically for the Indian market. Under the hood, the production-ready Skoda Vision IN is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine along with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI turbocharged mill. The former which also powers the Skoda Rapid is capable of making 110 PS of top power and 175 Nm of maximum torque. On the other hand, the other engine is brought from the Skoda Karoq. This engine is capable of churning out 150 PS/250 Nm. There will be two transmission options, a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The manufacturing of this model will take place at Skoda-Volkswagen plant in Pune and Aurangabad. Positioned under the Skoda Karoq on Skoda’s Indian range, the Vision IN is expected to be priced competitively. It will fare against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector. The production-ready model will be revealed in March before hitting the market by mid-2021.
