Spot Ford Figo 2018 Facelift CNG version being tested in India

It has been rumored that the facelift Ford Figo 2018 in India will offer a new CNG variant, along with petrol and diesel engine version.

This news gains more creditability now as the new CNG Figo has been spotted being tested on Indian roads. The images of the new Ford Figo, without camouflage and even showing the CNG sign on its body, have been circulating around the Internet. It seems that Ford has indirectly confirmed the upcoming of the new CNG variant in the Indian market. This CNG variant is also expected to appear on the Ford Aspire as well.

The Figo CNG has been spotted driving on Indian roads

The addition of this new CNG variant is understandable. The distribution network of the CNG is growing. It is now available in Delhi, not to mention that more than 80 cities are given the license to distribute CNG as well. It could be said that the use of CNG has a great future ahead.

However, it is unlikely that CNG could become a prominent fuel type. But with many environment-protecting initiatives to be launched in the near future, for example, BSVI and CAFE, the CNG has its righteous potential to prove itself as an environment-friendly option. 

The new Figo will receive an updated face

From the spy images, it has come clear that facelift Figo will get a revised rear bumper, new honey bomb grille as well as some small changes at the taillamps, headlamps and rear spoiler, just like the international version. Until now, there aren’t any interior updates to be revealed yet, but apparently, the cabin will receive considerable changes too. It is anticipated that the interior will be loaded with more features than the outgoing Ford Figo. The Figo facelift has been recently introduced in the South African market and the same model is expected to pop up in the Indian market as well.

2018 Ford Figo Facelift has been introduced oversea

Besides the news of the all-new CNG variants, we also learn some information about the Figo and Aspire’s new facelift. They will all be powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine which is able to deliver 96PS of power and 120Nm. It is the same engine from Ford Freestyle. On the Freestyle, it is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and could bring the respectable mileage of 24.4kmpl. Hopefully, it will get the automatic transmission in the time to come.

For the diesel version, the Figo will use 1.5-litre motor with the power number of 99PS and the torque of 215 Nm. The two transmission options for the diesel engine might be a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual clutch unit.

The facelift Figo has been launched in other markets, and on the Indian market, it is hoped to be revealed soon.
