Kia Motors is planning to update the extremely popular Seltos with additional features all across the range.

Kia Seltos is currently the best-selling compact SUV in India. Its muscular looks, powerful yet frugal engine options, sporty performance, and brilliant interior comfort are the biggest contributing factors to its success. Now, it seems like the company wishes to enhance the SUV’s appeal by adding premium features on different trim levels.

According to a few leaked documents, Kia Motors is planning to update the Seltos with a few feature additions in select trim options. The trims affected by this change include- HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX, and GTX+. The complete list of additions is given below.

Trim Name

Additions To The Standard Equipment List

HTE

USB Charging Port (Front and Rear), Emergency Stop Signal

HTK

USB Charging Port (Rear), Emergency Stop Signal

HTK+

USB Charging Port (Rear), Emergency Stop Signal, Dual Exhaust Tips, Gloss Black Dashboard, Leatherette Gear Knob, Remote Engine Start (automatic only)

HTX

Emergency Stop Signal, Metal Bash Plate, Electric Sunroof, Metal Garnish On AC Controls, Remote Engine Start (automatic only)

GTX+

As can be seen above, dual exhaust design will be standard on all trims except the basic HTE and HTK trims. The HTX and HTX+ trims now get additional metal bash plates for undercarriage protection.

Sunroof-equipped Kia Seltos Gets More Affordable

The biggest change, however, is that the HTX and GTX trim will now be available with an electric sunroof, which was previously only reserved for HTX+ and GTX+ trims. This is one of the significant changes to the Seltos range, and could potentially be a countermeasure against the new 2020 Hyundai Creta.

6 Features Of Kia Seltos NOT AVAILABLE on Hyundai Creta (Hindi)

The updated Kia Seltos is expected to be silently launched when the lockdown restrictions are eased further. The launch is also expected to bring a complimentary price hike, due to the added equipment. Still, the introduction of more features on the lower variants might ensure that customers might have to pay less to have a few particular ones, like sunroof.
