Suzuki has been taking the renewal of its Vitara SUV into the consideration. We are looking forward to an introduction of the next-gen SUV in the coming months

In a Russian public interview recently, the CEO of Suzuki Motor Rus, Yuta Takahashi, he stated as being translated below.

“If all available Vitara properties are scaled to a mid-size crossover and call it Grand Vitara, then there is no certainty that the buyer will accept this idea. In Europe, this car still has prospects, but in Japan and India - definitely not.”

Takahashi emphasized that the current Grand Vitara production has been stopped and the Exports of the SKD kits to South America for local assembly has been in the same condition as well. However, the car model is still on offer in some markets, including Chinese, one of the biggest teeming market.

The current Grand Vitara production has been discontinued for several years in some markets

Back in 2003, the Suzuki Grand Vitara first made its debut in the Indian market. Since then, it has just gone through the mid-cycle once. The second generation was introduced in 2013, after ten years of launching. The two generations were imported in CBU form from the Iwata plant, Japan.

In Australia market, otherwise, the local arm is in the expectation for a revise. The Japanese manufacturer has not confirmed or denied the introduction of the car model. However, in an interview with GoAuto took place yesterday, Michael Pachota, General Manager, Suzuki Australia (Automobiles), has said

“I can’t confirm it, but based on what I’ve heard, I don’t think Grand Vitara is dead.”

Also, he revealed the number of the old model left in the Australia market. Despite being discontinued since August last year, the left stock is evaluated to be around 100 units.

There are about 100 units left in Australia

It is still full of hope for the third gen of Grand Vitara which probably retains the built-in ladder frame construction with a monocoque body like the existing model. In general, we can see a green signal from Suzuki towards the launch in India.
