The Suzuki Swift Sport has received a mid-life update with several new features in New Zealand.
Suzuki Swift Sport, which is the performance-focussed version of the small car, has received a mid-life makeover with some minor visual updates and a host of new features. The cosmetic alternations consist of three new paint schemes: Ablaze Red, Speedy Blue and Frame Orange as well as an optional black roof.
The Suzuki Swift Sport now comes with three more colours which include Frame Orange seen in the image above.
More changes come to focus the moment you lay eyes on the list of safety features on offer. The Swift Sport is now equipped with rear cross-traffic warning, blind-spot monitoring, heated mirrors and rear parking sensors provided as standard features along with an Advanced Forward Detection System. These are added to an already comprehensive safety pack, which includes adaptive cruise control, a feature normally seen in more extravagant vehicles.
Commenting on the facelifted Suzuki Swift Sport, Gary Collins, Marketing General Manager in New Zealand commented,
“Swift Sport owners are technically savvy individuals so the increased safety technology will have strong appeal to this audience. The Swift Sport has an amazing reputation in our market, dominating recent small car awards and an Automobile Association People’s Choice winner. With the safety specification enhancement and exciting new colours, we anticipate the new model will attract even more demand.”
The manual third-gen Swift Sport is fun to drive and offers great control over the car with a sporty character and an excellent ride and handling quality on open roads. It is also a lot of fun to drive around town, although it is not as fun at lower speeds. In the meanwhile, the six-speed automatic gearbox is always brilliant. The 140 PS/230 Nm 1.4-litre turbo four-cylinder motor is carried over from the pre-facelifted version and is quite a firecracker of a motor.
The hatchback also gets a wide range of top-notch features, especially safety ones
The gear ratios of the AT unit appear to perfectly gel with the power delivery. Generally, regardless of which type of gearbox you choose, the Suzuki Swift Sport is sure to offer you a great driving experience. Also, despite all these changes, the fuel mileage of the hatchback has not been affected and remains decent.
Whichever type of gearbox you choose, the Suzuki Swift Sport always provides you with a great journey.
The manual version of the hatchback is now priced at $29,990 (INR 22.67 lakh) without the black roof and $30,500 (INR 23.06 lakh) with the black roof. On the other hand, the automatic version costs $30,990 (INR 23.42 lakh) without the black roof and $31,500 (INR 23.81 lakh) with the black roof.
