Suzuki to Invest Huge Amount of Money in Gujarat Plant

Suzuki Motor Corporation is intending to invest Rs 9,000 crore in a new car facility in Gujarat.

Maruti Suzuki’s parental group, Suzuki Motor Corporation has a plan to invest Rs. 9,000 crore in its domestic factory in Gujarat. The investment is expected to help Suzuki’s total sum in India rocket to Rs. 30,000 crore and the annual capacity to 1.5 million vessels.

The group is going to use this Rs. 9,000 crore to buy land, set up three assembly lines with the total annual capacity of 7,50,000, construct engine manufacturing unit, etc. Furthermore, the group is also planning to establish a full-fledged research and development (R&D) centre in Rohtak, Haryana and a lithium-ion battery unit in Gujarat, cooperating with Denso Corporation and Toshiba Corporation, with this money.

Suzuki Motor Corporation is planning to invest Rs 9,000 crore in a new car facility in Gujarat. 

The company’s overall production quantity will grow to three million units, thanks to the investment. The plant is anticipated to be established in Ahmedabad district, adjacent to the Suzuki’s current factory in Hansalpur-Vithalpur area.

2,50,000 units of capacity will be added to Suzuki’s current plant in Gujarat in the next few months before the number is increased to 7,50,000 in less than two years. After 2020, vehicles will be released from the new factory.

Gujarat is intended to be the Suzuki’s biggest plant in terms of investment and manufacturing quantity, providing jobs for no fewer than 4,000 people at present and 25,000-30,000 people in the coming time. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project is the result of the cooperation between India and Japan, which will also offer employment to the Japanese as well.
