Tata 45X to be launched in August 2019, rival with Honda City and Maruti Ciaz

Tata Motors has confirmed the launch date for its new hatchback - Tata 45X. This all-new hatchback is due to be on sale in August 2019.

Tata Motors is keeping the car enthusiasts to engage with their upcoming Tata Harrier which is due to be out next month. However, they are also on its way of finalizing its new hatchback – Tata 45X. It is confirmed that the Tata 45X is going to be launched in August 2019.

The concept of Tata 45X was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. It stood out at the motor shows as one of the most striking hatchback concepts. It is no wonder why the production of the Tata 45X is receiving much attention from car enthusiasts.

With the new Tata 45X, Tata will put out the latest design language as well as a new platform. Specifically, AMP (Advanced Modular Platform) will underpin the 45X, besides, IMPACT 2.0 design language will inspire the design of the new hatchback. Some features that could be expected to be sported in the 45X includes a big-sized wheelset, prominent wheel arches and creases.

The front face of the Tata 45X is identical to the concept version; however, unlike the concept car, the production version will squeeze into a smaller size which measures under 4 metres. In terms of engine, Tata 45X is likely to be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a reworked 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engines. These engine options will be paired with a standard 6-speed manual or a newly-developed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. What's more, mild-hybrid technology will also be employed on the upcoming Tata 45X.

In terms of features, Tata 45X is likely to house one the largest touchscreen in its segment. Besides, the cabin will offer many useful storage spaces, not to mention the high-quality material promised by Tata.

The production version has been spotted on some spy pictures. After being launched in August 2019, the Tata 45X will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz.
