Tata Altroz Deliveries Commence In India

Tata Motors launched the Altroz into the Indian market last month at a price tag of Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base XE petrol trim, and Rs 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-of-the-line XZ(O) diesel variant. The carmaker has initiated deliveries of the car.

The Tata Altroz is one of the most well-rounded hatchbacks in its segment. It competes with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Baleno. Moreover, recently, Tata Altroz scored a five-star safety rating at Global NCAP. The five-seater premium Tata hatchback underpins company’s modular ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform. This is the first vehicle from Tata, which is based on this architecture, and the second all-new car based on the company’s Impact Design 2.0 Philosophy. The design of the Tata Altroz is influenced by the company’s 45X concept, which made its debut at Auto Expo 2018. 

The premium hatchback is retailed in five different trim levels, namely- XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O). The car features sharp-looking headlights, eye-catching grille upfront, body-coloured door handles, blacked-out B-pillar and LED taillight. Powering the Tata Altroz is a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol motor, which puts out power and torque outputs of 86 PS and 113 Nm. On the other hand, the premium hatchback also derives power from a 1.5-litre, turbocharged oil-burner that produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of twisting force. Both the engines are BS-VI compliant, and the transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The car is offered in five unique colour shade options namely- Skyline Silver, High-Street Gold, Downtown Red, Avenue White and Midtown Grey. Moreover, it comes loaded with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, blue ambient lighting, cooled glovebox, a semi-digital instrument console and automatic headlights along with automatic wipers.
