Tata Altroz Turbo Teaser Video Released, Launching This Month

Ahead of its official launch, Tata Altroz Turbo Petrol is teased via a short video, which was uploaded on Tata Motors' Youtube channel recently. Read the complete report here.

Tata Motors has scheduled several important launches for 2021, including Tata Gravitas and Tata HBX. Besides these strategic launches, the home-grown car manufacturer has also planned to roll out some other new models. One of them is the Tata Altroz Turbo. Tata Motors has just dropped a teaser video of the upcoming Altroz Turbo.

Tata Altroz made its debut in our market on January 22, 2020, and received favourable responses from domestic customers. It is currently taking the third position in the sales chart of its segment, standing after the Maruti Baleno and new-gen Hyundai i20.

In the beginning, Tata Altroz come with a diesel and petrol engine. Tata Altroz's petrol variants source power from the 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that puts out 86 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is capable of making 90 PS and 200 Nm. Now, the Altroz will see the introduction of a turbo-petrol motor under its bonnet, whcih will be sourced from the Nexon. In the Nexon, the turbo-petrol engine produces a maximum power of 120 PS and a top torque of 170 Nm. However, in the Altroz, the peak outputs are likely to be lowered down to 110 PS and 140 Nm.

Tata Altroz Turbo Petrol is set to enter the Indian market soon 

The turbo petrol engine is expected to come with a five-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic options. After the launch of the turbo petrol model, Tata Altroz will rival against the Hyundai i20 Turbo-petrol and Volkswagen Polo Turbo-petrol. Hyundai i20 is powered by the 1.0-litre three-cylinder T-GDI petrol engine (120 PS and 172 Nm). On the Volkswagen Polo Turbo petrol, the power outputs stand at 110 PS and 175 Nm.

The price of this new model is not yet revealed. However, it is expected to cost around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The current range of the Altroz is priced from Rs 5.44 lakh to Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition to the new turbo petrol engine, Tata Motors will also introduces a new colour option for the Altroz buyers.
