Tata Altroz is one of the most anticipated new car launches for India in 2020. While the series production of the Tata Altroz has commenced at its facility in Pune, Tata will officially unveil the India-spec premium Altroz hatchback on December 3, 2019, at Jaisalmer and open the pre-bookings for the new car on December 4 at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Tata Altroz will see its price announcement in January 2020.

Based on the Tata 45X concept that debuted at 2018 Auto Expo, the Tata Altroz saw its world premiere in the near-production form at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The new Altroz is the second Tata product to follow the brand’s latest IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy after the hugely popular Tata Harrier. Other than that, it is the first offering to debut the new ALFA architecture (Agile, Light, Flexible, and Advanced). For the uninitiated, it will be one of the two platforms that form the basis of most of the Tata cars in the near future.
Tata Altroz will have its official market launch in January 2020.
The all-new Altroz is a lavish car. It catches the eyes with its premium design elements such as projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and fog lamps in a separate housing, a set of 16-inch machined-cut alloy wheels along with sporty tail lamps with LED inserts. The dual-tone paint scheme combined with piano black treatment stretching to the width of the boot lid adds more to the premium quotient.
On the inside, the Tata Altroz features a plush interior loaded with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, soft-touch materials and textures that should raise the upmarket feel of the car. Ambient lighting and some other app-based features are expected to be some other creature-comforts of the model.
Tata Altroz marks the brand's entry into the premium hatchback segment to rival the Maruti Baleno, VW Polo and Hyundai i20.
Reportedly, the Tata Altroz will be available with three engine options under the hood – an 85 HP 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 102 HP 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor, and a 90 HP 1.5-litre diesel unit. As far as transmissions go, it can be had with a 5-speed MT as standard at launch followed by automatic transmission options at a little later.
