Tata Altroz XM+ Variant Launched, New Hyundai i20 Effect?

Tata Motors has just added the latest XM+ petrol variant to the Altroz’s lineup. The all-new Tata Altroz XM+ gets the reasonable price sticker of Rs 6.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and sits above the XM trim in the range. With a host of additional features in place, the Tata Altroz XM+ commands a premium of just Rs 30,000 over the XM variant. It’s worth noting that the new XM+ trim is offered on the petrol configuration of the Tata Altroz only. Also, the launch of the new Hyundai i20 seems to have pushed Tata Motors to launh this cleverly positioned model.

As stated above, the new Tata Altroz XM+ variant offers a bunch of new features at a reasonable price point. The new car comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, steering-mounted controls, voice command recognition and voice alerts, a remote foldable key are also parts of the package that helps enhance the car’s overall comfort and convenience quotient. Do keep in mind that these features are not available in the XM trim. Apart from that, all other features offered on the XM are carried forward to the new XM+ variant, including ambient lighting, electrically-adjustable and folding ORVMs, power windows, drive modes (Eco and City) among others.

From the outside, the Tata Altroz XM+ variant remains identical to other models, except for a larger 16-inch wheel with new stylish wheel covers. The car is available in four colour options including High Street Gold, Avenue White, Downtown Red and Midtown Grey.

Commenting on the introduction of the new Altroz XM+ variant, Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit said that,

With the new model, we have not only raised the bar in the premium hatchback segment but also created a new benchmark for safety in the industry. We are confident that the introduction of the XM+ variant will further strengthen the appeal of the Altroz by giving customers an option to experience a variety of premium features at an extremely attractive price.

In another update, Tata has launched a special edition of the Harrier in India. Named Harrier Camo Edition, the new car looks more distinctive than the standard models and gets the price starting from Rs 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
