Tata Harrier, one of the most popular Tata cars of recent times, gets a new paint option. The new ‘Dark Edition’ features all black exterior treatment.

After much anticipation and speculation, Tata Motors has finally launched the Dark Edition of its Harrier SUV. The colour is only available for the top ‘XZ’ trim, and is priced similar to the Dual-tone colour scheme, at ₹ 16.76 Lakh (ex-showroom). Needless to say, the Harrier looks extremely ravishing in the new paint colour.

The Dark Edition gets all-black exterior with black-out design details throughout, including the alloy wheels. The badging and the chrome inserts on the door panels seem to be the only pieces left shiny on the Dark Harrier. One tiny detail that deserves special mention is the little ‘#Dark’ badge on the front fender. Combine that with the futuristic styling, and the ride looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. If Darth Vader were to roam the Earth, he wouldn’t think twice before getting himself the Harrier Dark Edition; it just seems custom built for a Sith Lord!

Not only is the dark theme on the outside, it extends on the inside as well. The fake wood inserts are now replaced by ‘Blackstone Matrix’, and there the detailing on the dashboard is finished in gunmetal grey. The upholstery is black leatherette with grey stitching, and the door handles get a perforated black leather finish.

As the car is based on the XZ trim, all the equipment available is the same. Mechanically, there have been no changes to the car. The same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine does duty under the hood, making the same 140 Bhp and 350Nm of max power and torque respectively. The engine is only BSIV compliant yet, but BSVI test vehicles have been spotted recently, hinting at launch probably by the end of this year.
