Tata Harrier registered a year-on-year growth of 240 percent in February 2021 thanks to its BSIV updates last year. Tata Harrier is currently available with 2.0-litre petrol engine with 140 PS and 350 Nm.

Tata Harrier was first launched in 2019. Initially, the compact SUV did not receive as much attention as it was expected to. However, Tata did not let its much-anticipated SUV flop. During its existence in the market, the carmaker has constantly added new notable updates, especially with last year’s BSVI upgrade. Thanks to these new updates, the Tata Harrier has finally found a new following in the Indian market. Accordingly, last month, Tata announced that Harrier received a massive sales growth of 240 per cent.

Specifically, in the first month of 2021, Tata sold 2,443 units of the Harrier in the Indian market against 719 units sold in the same month last year, registering the said year-on-year growth of 240 percent. It is worth mentioning that in January 2020, Tata Harrier was still on sale in its BSIV form. The BSIV Harrier was powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec four-cylinder diesel engine which was capable of making 140 PS and 350 Nm. Such power outputs were considered underwhelming for its class. It was one of the factors that hinder Harrier’s potential.
