Tata Nexon Makes Yet Another Record!

The 1,50,000th Tata Nexon unit has been rolled out from the company’s Ranjangaon plant, Pune. It is a very important milestone for the auto manufacturer because the Tata Nexon has been crucial for its turnaround in business terms as it has brought back volume for the company effectively. Based on the data, the Nexon sold around 50 thousand units per year or an average of just below 5 thousand units per month.

The Tata Nexon first reached the first of its milestones back in September 2018 by reaching 50 thousand units produced, reaching 1 lakh units the same month a year later. With the auto industry as a whole having to deal with setbacks and a national lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic, It is easy to see why it didn’t reach the 1.5 lakh mark earlier in the year. 

Currently, Tata Motors is running a social media campaign that will give participants a chance to win signed merchandise and gift vouchers. Winning entries stand a chance to win a cash price of Rs 1.5 lakh, and more appealingly to meet KL Rahul, Captain of the Indian cricket team, and brand ambassador for the Tata Nexon. Tata motors are currently reporting sales of above 5 thousand units for its Tiago and Nexon as businesses after lockdown has been opening up. The vehicle is also been exported in small numbers to neighbourhood countries., showing tentative potential there.  
The Tata Nexon has been nothing but a success story for the Marque, the vehicle featuring modern and up-to-date features to keep itself in the apex of a competitive space that has seen multiple new entrants in recent years. The Nexon can rely on a sizeable sales volume in the rapidly expanding segment. 

Tata reported its highest-ever sales in October 2020 and at 6,888 units, it is also a personal highest for the Nexon. But even a strong performance like this isn’t enough to make it the highest seller in its segment. It sits at fourth place in the segment dominated by the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Brezza. It will be intriguing to see if the Nexon keeps churning out the sales figures which are going to see even more entrants soon.

The compact SUV market has shown strong growth, with it having multiple choices from pretty much every manufacturer and new models being launched consistently. even at a time that no-one knew if the market had a chance at any recovery at all. For now, there’s plenty to celebrate, and November 2020 has only just begun. With the ongoing festive season being plentiful, there’s a chance that Nexon sales for the month could yet again be at an all-time high.
