Tata Nexon is the third best-selling compact-SUV in the country for the month of August and only one to score positive YoY growth.

Tata Nexon received a mid-cycle update earlier this year in January. With the update, the sub-4m compact-SUV featured revamped styling for the front facet, redesigned alloy wheels, BS-6 compliant engine options, and addition of a few features in the cabin. While it was already performing great on the sales chart, the update helped it to do even better in terms of sales volume. The result is evident in the sales tally for August as Nexon is the only car in its segment to register positive YoY growth. In August this year, Tata Motors sold a total of 5,179 units of the Nexon, which is higher than 2,275 units sold in the same month last year.

With these figures, Tata Nexon registers a YoY growth of 127 per cent. However, Tata Nexon is not the best-selling compact-SUV for the month of August. It is the Hyundai Venue with 8,267 units sold in total. However, this figure is lesser than that recorded last year's 9,342 units. If total sales figures of the Indigenous carmaker are to be considered, Tata Motors sold 18,583 units in August 2020. However, the total sales stood at 7,316 units in the same month last year, thus resulting in YoY growth of 154 per cent.
