Every country around the world is now moving towards green mobility. In such a scenario, carmakers are gradually entering the EV market to test waters. So far, Hyundai has launched the Kona Electric, while MG has started selling the ZS EV. The third electric model available in the country is the Tata Nexon EV, which has been doing rather well in our market, especially if you take into account that the electric mobility infrastructure in India is still in nascent stages.

The Tata Nexon EV was launched in our market earlier this year. It is powered by a 3-phase permanent synchronous motor coupled to an IP67-certified 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 129bhp of power and 245 Nm of twisting force. The electric SUV can charge from o to 80 per cent in just 60 minutes by using a fast charger (CCS 2), while, the regular charger will charge the EV from 20 to 100 per cent in 8 hours. The SUV is rated to offer an ARAI certified range of 312 km in one full charge.

Outside, the SUV features automatic headlamps, fog lamps with cornering ability, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and dual-tone roof. Inside, the Tata Nexon EV employs premium leather seats, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, fully automatic climate control, push-button start, leather-wrapped steering wheel and sunroof. The electric SUV is offered in three different trim levels namely- XZ, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The electric SUV is offered at a starting of Rs 13.99 lakh for the entry-level XZ trim and goes all the up to Rs 14.99 lakh for the top-spec XZ+ Lux variant. In it's segment, Tata Nexon EV has no direct rival.
