The 2019 facelift Tata Tiago is spied on road test in Pune. Look for more details here.

Tata Tiago is Tata’s best-selling models. First launched in 2016, it has marked the birth of Tata’s new design language, the IMPACT. Fast forward the year 2019, Tata Tiago will get its mid-life updates. The upgrading of the Tiago is done in Tata’s international studios in the UK and Italy, besides its Pune facility.

On the new Tiago, the design gets some new details. For example, the grille is given the new pattern while the front bumper is redesigned to look sharper. The headlight and taillight housing is also twisted a bit. Besides, new alloy wheels are also added.

The Tata Tiago was launched in April 2016 and it was the first model to embody the IMPACT design language. A mid-cycle update is now in the works for this car, which was designed with inputs from studios in Pune, UK and Italy. The facelifted model has a new pattern for the upper grille and a new bumper design that looks sharper. Other exterior changes could include tweaked headlamps and tail lamps and new alloy wheels.

Updates on the interior include the new upholstery and an improved infotainment system.  Under the hood, the facelift Tiago remains the same powertrain setting with only some small change on the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine in order to meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms. These updates might bring in a slight change in the power output. The recent unit could churn out 85 PS and 114Nm at best. It continues to be paired with the 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission.

The future of the diesel version is still in question. The BSVI updates come at a high cost, therefore, some manufacturers have officially confirmed the end of diesel trims on some models. For example, Maruti has put an end to the diesel variants of their most popular vehicles including Swift, Baleno and Dzire. So, it is not sure if the 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine of the Tiago could make it to the mid-life upgrade.

At the moment, Tata is preparing for the debut of the 45X, after another important launch of the Harrier. On the other hand, the facelift Tata Tiago is likely to arrive by the beginning of next year.
