Tata Tiago JTP revealed ahead of its launch, getting exterior and interiro updates

The performance-oriented Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are going to be launch soon. And revealed details will give you a look into what will be offered in these new versions of the ongoing Tiago and Tigor.

Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP or the performance version of the ongoing hatchback and sedan are revealed ahead of its launch. These versions are built under the collaboration of Tata Motor and Jayem Automotives Pvt Ltd.

What could we expect from a performance car? Actually, these versions will have the sportier look and obviously, more powerful and exciting performance with higher power output.

Both Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP’s dimension will not differ from the original car. However, the ride height, as well as the ground clearance, will be marginally lowered. The lowered ride height will help the car to perform handling in the sportier manner. The ground clearance of the two cars stands at 166mm, which are 4mm lower than the standard Tiago and Tigor. Besides the new engine, the suspension will also be reworked, which will contribute to a sportier performance.

To the appearance, the original designs will get some minor twists to look sportier. To be exact, it has a larger grille, projector headlights with chrome insert. To the side, it will be packed with a set of 15-inch diamond-cut alloys. We also have the rear spoiler and side skirt on the JTP version. Besides, to enhance the sportiness, contrast roof, ORVM and rear fender vents will be among the new details.

Inside the car, the interior is also tuned for a sporty vibe. For example, the JTP version will get an all-black theme with red accent on the AC vent, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The seat gets red stitches in hexagon pattern. These versions will get a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and voice command. The safety package includes dual airbags, ABS and corner stability control function.

Here comes the most expected part, the engine which mostly alters the performance of JTP version.

The engine featured on the Tiago and the Tigor JTP is 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. This unit is able to release 114hp and 150Nm, which is just slightly higher than the Nexon JTP’s engine. This engine option is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox. About the 0-100kph sprint, the JTP versions all outdone the original ones at 9.95 and 10.38 seconds.

What’s more, the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will come with different drive modes, which are Sport and City. You can switch between these two when driving in the winding road and inside the hustle city.
