Tata Motors has plans to introduce two new models in the Indian market, including Gravitas (7-seater Harrier) and HBX (Maruti Ignis-rival)

Tata Motors launched the all-new Altroz in the Indian market early this year. It’s for the very first time that the automaker has introduced a premium hatchback, which rubs shoulders with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. This year Tata has also launched the Nexon facelift, Harrier facelift, Nexon EV, Tiago and Tigor facelift.

Now the carmaker has plans to launch the two new SUVs in our market by the second half of this year namely- HBX and Gravitas. Tata Motors unveiled the HBX micro SUV at the Auto Expo 2020. The concept SUV magnetized a lot of spectators at the carmaker’s pavilion. The all-new Tata HBX will be the second car based on the automaker’s ALFA (Agile Lightweight, Flexible and Advanced) platform.

Tata Altroz was the first car based on this platform. The upcoming HBX micro SUV will sit under Nexon in the carmaker’s line-up. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and Maruti Ignis. The carmaker has ensured that the production-spec HBX will look very similar to the concept car. The all-new micro SUV is expected to hit the Indian shores by the end of this year. The second SUV that Tata Motors is planning to launch in the Indian market is Gravitas (7-seat Harrier). The all-new SUV will hit our market by the upcoming festive season. Tata Gravitas will be second SUV to be based on the company’s OMEGA-ARC platform. Tata Harrier was the first SUV built on this platform.

Moreover, Tata Gravitas will also share a lot of mechanics and features with the Harrier. The all-new Tata Gravitas will rival with the likes of Mahindra XUV500. The upcoming Gravitas will look very much similar to that of the ongoing Harrier. The 7-seat SUV will derive power from Harrier’s BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel motor, which puts out 170bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It’ll come loaded with safety features like 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold control, hill descent control, traction control, rollover mitigation and much more.
