1. The new platform will help the 2019 Audi Q3 grow in dimensions

The first thing that sets the new-gen Audi Q3 apart from the current model is the platforms which underpin the two cars. Unlike the previous-gen Q3 which has used the PQ35 platform, the new Audi Q3 will be supported by the MQB platform of the Volkswagen Group, which is also adopted by other products of the group such as the Skoda Karoq, Octavia, Kodiaq, Superb; the Volkswagen Passat Tiguan; and the Audi A3 and TT. The new modular platform will raise the dimensions of the SUV.

To be more specific, the 2019 Q3 SUV will measure greater in length and width by 97mm, 25mm; however, it will be slightly shorter, by 23mm. It will have a 77mm longer wheelbase. All of these will contribute to a more amber cabin. Audi has claimed that the new-gen Audi’s final seat row can be adjusted by moving forwards or backwards by 150mm. Therefore, its 530-litre boot space can be expanded to a 1,525-litre one with the rear seat completely folded, which is able to house a bicycle.

Refer to the table below for a detailed comparison of the dimensions between the new Audi Q3 and the current model
