Third-Gen BMW X6 To Launch On June 11 In India, Confirmed

BMW X6 is going to be launched in the country on coming June 11. Like other recent launches, even this is going to be a digital event.

The Bavarians have teased us again with a new teaser image of the third-gen X6. However, this time, the manufacturer has also confirmed the car’s arrival, which is scheduled for June 11. The third-gen X6 was initially planned to launch in the country sometime in the first quarter of this year. For the same reason, BMW dealers across the country started accepting the bookings for the car in January itself. But due to the ongoing pandemic, a lot of car launches were postponed and X6 was also a part of the list.

In India, the third-gen X6 will make its way to the showroom floors via the CBU route. It is expected to be offered in two configurations: xLine and M Sport. The xLine trim gets black cladding all around and chrome bit on the car's exterior. To the contrary, M Sport gets body-coloured cladding and the chrome bits are replaced with piano-back elements. Also, the car will be loaded to the brim. It will feature all-LED lighting, high-definition touchscreen display for infotainment unit with BMW’s iDrive tech, panoramic sunroof, all-digital instrument cluster, illuminated front grille, and BMW’s Dynamic Damper Control.

Talking of the powertrains, the Indian version is expected to debut in 40i avatar only. In simpler words, it will come equipped with a 3.0L six-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor with a peak power output of 340 HP and max torque of 450 Nm. It will come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. And, channelling the power to all four wheels of the car will be BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

In the international markets, the X6 also gets the option of 530 HP 4.4L V8 petrol, 400 HP 3.0L inline-6 diesel, and a 265 HP 3.0L diesel. However, they would not be a part of the package in India, at least initially. Once launched, the BMW X6 will take on the likes of Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Audi Q8 in India. It is expected to be priced northwards of Rs. 1.00 Crore as the last-gen car had a starting price of Rs. 92.20 lakh.
