1. 2018 Mercedes Benz CLS Exterior

As regards the exterior, the new-gen CLS features Mercedes’s upgraded design style which was also used on the B-class and the A-class (not yet come to the Indian market). The front looks aggressive, thanks to the LED headlamps with arrow-shaped LED DRLs and the newly-designed grille. The frameless doors, the forward inclining nose, the frameless doors, the low sloping roofline with the standard Pre-safe closing function, the multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels makes the side profile look sharper. In the rear, it comes with a sloping windscreen, a large bumper and a tiny boot lid, all of which contribute to the sporty appearance of the vehicle.

3. Mercedes Benz CLS Performance

Unlike the two engine options (petrol and diesel engines) on the outgoing model, the 2018 Indian-bound CLS sedan receives power from a 2.0L diesel motor which can churn out 245PS of max power and 500Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the car via a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This motor is also being used on the new Indian C-Class and Thailand CLS.

In the Indian auto market, the Mercedes Benz CLS currently has no direct rival but once when the facelifted Audi A7 Sportback comes to India, it will be a formidable competitor of Mercedes’s luxury sedan.
