This Land Rover-inspired Modified Maruti Brezza Looks Classier Than Facelift

Maruti Brezza is the most popular sub-compact SUV in India, and by quite a heavy margin. Recently, Maruti introduced the facelift version of the car, which sports cosmetic changes, but few and minor. While the new model does manage to look better than the previous one, there are a few examples of modified Brezza that look even better. Here, we have a Vitara Brezza that wears a Land Rover’s front grille!

As can be seen in the picture above, the front grille of the Brezza has been replaced by a custom unit. It carries the same look as the Land Rover Discovery- two horizontal slats with wide hexagonal patterns throughout, and green oval in the bottom right corner. Where the oval says ‘Land Rover’ in the original SUV, here, it says ‘Brezza’ for obvious reasons. This is a custom part and not a direct lift-and-install job from an old Land Rover, as those SUVs are much larger in dimensions and a grille from those might not fit the Brezza directly.

Apart from Land Rover, there are plenty of modified Maruti Vitara Brezza examples that sport custom front grilles from other brands. Jeep comes first to mind. The signature 7-slat grille, the one from the Compass, is a very popular aftermarket accessory for the Brezza. That said, this Land Rover unit looks much classier, even more so that the new 2020 Vitara Brezza facelift. Other than that, the car seen here seems to have no other modifications, either to the exterior or the interior.

The pre-facelift model of the Brezza was powered by a Fiat-sourced, 1.3-litre, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel engine. It is capable of producing 90 PS and 200 Nm of max power and peak torque, respectively. The current model, however, has a new motor, a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-4 petrol unit. This mill can produce 105 PS of max power and 138 Nm of peak torque. These mechanical changes are the only major ones in the new car. The aesthetic differences are extremely minor in comparison. The front grille is redesigned, with a bit more chrome than the previous model. We also get LED DRLs, that look enticing. At the rear, the taillamp units are new LED units now, instead of traditional ones.

The 2020 Maruti Brezza (facelift) is priced from Rs. 7.34 lakh to 11.4 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Its main competition comes from Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, and Hyundai Venue. More rivals are expected to join the segment soon, including the Kia Sonet and a new subcompact SUV from Renault.
