The Maruti Swift has been one of the most mod-friendly models in the country as it’s very easy to achieve a great look without having to spend a lot of money on the modifications

First launched in 2005, the Maruti Swift has been the best-selling model in the B1-segment. Other than being immensely popular among the car buyers, the Swift is also a favourite in the modifications circle of the country. The funky design and the easy availability of performance parts makes the Swift a good canvas for car customizers to work their magic on. As portrayed by the car we have in the video below, here’s a modified Maruti Swift that shows how easily one can achieve a great look without spending a lot of money.

The modified Maruti Swift seen here looks sufficiently subtle even after hosting a handful of modifications. Up front, it gets a new set of headlamps that have a Porsche-inspired pattern. Other than this, the car also features a new bumper and a sporty body kit. The side profile is characterized by black-painted side skirts and bigger alloy rims shod with low profile rubber. The rear-end features a huge roof-mounted spoiler, a new bumper and quad exhaust layout. The twin exhausts on the left side are for ornamental purpose. The changes are not limited just to the exterior. Inside, the car comes with red wrap for several panels, including the dashboard and the steering wheel. This helps one compliment the exterior. The car also features and aftermarket touchscreen infotainment unit.

There aren’t many performance modifications to speak of. The car features a performance air intake and a sports exhaust. Together, these two updates make this modified Maruti Swift sound very sporty. While these updates won’t make the car more powerful or go much faster, they do make it a more enjoyable drive. Also, the sporty exhaust note goes well with the visual modifications sported by this car.

Currently, the Maruti Swift is available only with a BS6-compliant petrol engine option in the form of a 1.2-litre K-series engine that outputs a maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. There are good chances that soon, the Swift would receive the more powerful K12N 1.2-litre engine from the Dzire. If and when that happens, the power figure will be bumped up to 90 PS.
